Have you ever been able to look back and pinpoint a specific date as a turning point in your life? Or, at the time it was it was happening, did you know that it was a turning point? For me, it was in July 2007 when I stood on an overpass at night, overlooking the International Bridge Toll Plaza in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
I was taking my first-ever night photograph with my new DSLR camera – a Sony A100. I shot it in manual mode, not relying on any automatic settings in the camera. From the moment that I saw the image on the camera display, I was hooked and I knew that I had reached a turning point in my life. I had found my new calling – night photography!
