Beginnings!
Have you ever been able to look back and pinpoint a specific date as a turning point in your life? Or, at the time it was it was happening, did you know that it was a turning point? For me, it was in July 2007 when I stood on an overpass at night, overlooking the International Bridge Toll Plaza in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
Night photography is a captivating genre that allows photographers to explore a different side of the world. The darkness that envelopes the surroundings transforms familiar scenes into mysterious and enchanting compositions. With the right techniques and equipment, one can capture breathtaking images of cityscapes, starry skies, or even illuminated landmarks.
My experience of capturing my first night photograph with my new Sony A100 was exhilarating. I knew instantly that I’d reached a turning point! It is amazing how a single photograph can ignite a spark within us and lead us down a path we never expected.
Check out one of my other posts – Beautiful Sun Photography. As a as a “beautiful sun” photographer. It is all about the light, whether it is at sunrise, sunset, or the dark of night. My night on that overpass was the beginning of my journey to express my unique perspective and to evoke emotions through my art.
